Time flies when your lovin life!

Where's the summer goin',goin' gonna be gone. Spending time in Idaho was great. I was able to

see all the kids, grandkids and more. Ben, Tara and Ryker flew in from Florida. Wow, had Ryker ever grown. He is such a handsome, smart, and very friendly little boy. It had been almost a year since seeing him. For some reason I was Bacca. Go figure. I didn't car what he called me, just so he liked me. While in Idaho, I was able to spend time with each of the families.

Slumber parties with the kids. Barbecues with everyone. Time went by way way to fast.

The house in Idaho is now up and running. Thank heavens. Next visit will be much less painful in that respect. Thanks kids for a wonderful couple of months. See you soon.

Today started off so good. Ready to go see everyone down home. Enter Mt. Redoubt!!
All flights cancelled out of Anchorage can't get out until Sunday. Once I get done crying

Brock's Trip

What a good week. Brock arrived on the 27th, very early in the morning, in a blizzard. Welcome to Alaska! It has been so fun to have him here. Fur Rondy started the day he arrived, so it gave me a good reason to check out some of the activities. Running of the Reindeer, Snow Sculptures,

Car shows, and the whole atmosphere of Rondy. It was also the start of the Itidorod. I must say, that was one of the highlights for me. Just being able to be there and get an up close view of the official start was great. There are 68 teams this year and I think each team runs with 16 dogs.

Anyone who thinks running those dogs is cruel, needs to go watch how eager they are to run.

They are really beautiful animals. It was a perfect day weather wise, so that topped the day off.

However, the best part of having Brock visit was just having him here and hanging out. Thanks

Brock. Maybe next time you can come in the summer and fish.

Back Home Again.

We made it back home once again. The conference in Vegas was ok but the weather was pretty cold. As we flew into Vegas, I looked down to see lots of snow. The out skirts were really covered. I don't think I have ever seen snow before, that close to Las Vegas. The conference was held at the Golden Nugget. Our room was great, on the 17th floor. We went down to Fremont street a couple of nights and watched the light and music show. It is something else.
The people sponsoring the conf. held a mini spa thing for all the women who wanted to attend. It was just a chair massage, hand massage or parafin treatment, skin consultation and a couple of other things. Then they gave us a bag of free sample products. We went over and toured the new casino, Encore. It was pretty fancy. Vegas was just Vegas. When the conference was over
we flew to Phoenix and drove out to Queen Valley where Johns two sisters spend the winter. It was about 60 degrees or maybe 65. That was nice. The citrus fruit was all on the trees, so we
picked grapefruits, oranges, lemons and tangerines. Wow, they are so good. It was a beautiful area. Thanks Lois and Elaine and Paul for a great time.

Another Blogging Accomplishment

I finally got a playlist to post as a gadget. My sound simple to you, but it took me awhile, so I thought I'd pat myself on the back.
Our corner of Alaska is warming up a bit. Spring will be so welcomed by me. Next week we will go to Vegas for a few days. John has a conference there. We are hoping for wonderful weather.
These conferences are usually good. A booth is set up and people wander around asking questions about the different products and services. It is amazing what is out there. It has been a whole different world than I was used to. Most of the time we have plenty of free time and can do a little sight seeing or see a show.

juSt aNother cOld Winter day

Not much going on, but more snow. I know it is winter and this is Alaska! Several inches fell overnight and it's still coming down like crazy. I have to admit,
it is beautiful. Yesterday was a pretty good day. We had someone come in with Beth and I went into Anchorage. It started out real exciting with a visit to the eye doctor. (Boy, do I know how to have a good time) The good news is that after neglecting
to go for about eight years, my eyes are good. However, when I met the dr., I wanted to be sure he was even old enough to drive. So young these days!!
I spent the rest of the day just doing town stuff. We had signed up to help clean the temple, so when John got off work we went to the temple for the last session of the evening and then stayed to clean. It was a good experience. I did not know they made assignments for cleaning duties. It is a good way to get to know some of the other members and explore a little. Maybe they do not do this in all areas. I had never heard about this assignment back home. All in all is was good.
Oh yeah, note I did put phpotos in. For me that was an accomplisment.

Today Is The DAy

Ok, today is the day. I am going to take this blog thing (I think) This winter has drug on and on and on. I know it's not over, so what better time to learn new things than while I am indoors, to say nothing of in the dark. We are gaining daylight faster now. I will have to watch the news and see how much each day. I know it's not enough for me. John spent last week in Pittsburgh.
A new system was delivered, so he helped to install it, then trained them in running it. He has not had to travel much since right before Christmas, but it sounds like his schedule will be picking up now. We have a trip to Vegas planned in a couple weeks. It is one of the annual conferences. I plan to go this time. The climate will be warmer and I need a break.
As most that know us know, John's mother Beth lives with us. She will be 91 this spring. Her health is failing more all the time, so she require alot of care. She is a very sweet lady. We are is the process of having a lift put in so I can get her out of the house more often. Right now, we have to wait for John to be home to go back up the stairs. Last week we went for a ride and when we returned I had to call a grandson to help carry her back up the stairs. I can barely get her down the stairs, but it's just not safe anymore for me to get her back up alone. Getting out now and then lifts her spirits, even though she is always is a hurry to return home.
Next post I will try for a picture add on. Wow, for an older gal, I'm getting brave.
